Scenario-Based Enterprise WLAN Design

Rihai Wu, Xun Yang, Xia Zhou, Yibo Wang · 2021

This chapter analyzes typical scenarios and provides wireless local area network (WLAN) planning and design methods, enabling network administrators to better understand and use WLAN planning and design in actual projects. The enterprise office scenario refers to the office area of an enterprise and includes areas such as meeting rooms and manager offices. Stadiums, exhibition halls, and large conference halls are typical high-density scenarios that have high requirements for network planning. Hotel rooms, dormitories, and wards are densely distributed, with each room usually having fewer than ten users. It is recommended that one remote unit be deployed in each room to meet capacity and coverage requirements. There are two types of classroom scenarios. The first involves scenarios where only teaching services are provided, for example, classrooms in primary and secondary schools. The other involves both teaching services and Internet access services, for example, classrooms and lecture halls in colleges and universities.
