A media access control method based on the synchronized phenomena of coupled oscillators (SP-MAC) has been proposed to avoid data frame collisions. SP-MAC can achieve a higher total throughput than carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance (CSMA/CA) in a multi-hop environment. However, in previous studies, the throughput characteristics of SP-MAC considering the capture effect and multi-hop environment were insufficient. Therefore, in this study, we evaluate the throughput performance of SP-MAC in a multi-hop wireless LAN environment considering the capture effect. Consequently, we confirmed that the throughput ratio of SP-MAC to CSMA/CA increased when the number of hops changed.
