The COVID-19 shutdown was supposed to last for only a few weeks, or so we believed in March 2020. Along with many of us working in software and systems engineering, I absorbed that early news and assumed that any interruption to my normal professional routine would be short lived. Requirements engineering (RE) work would continue as planned, with methods and practices resilient enough to handle the pivot in our path.
