Interleave division multiple access (IDMA) has become a promising solution for performance enhancement of future access networks. In this paper, we investigate the performance of IDMA scheme within millimeter (mm-Wave) underground communications, by exploiting the space- time-block coding (STBC) diversity, and adopting the group random permutation (GRP)-based interleaver, to further remove the interference from other users. The performance of the resulting system is investigated based on the real channel measurements carried out in underground mine environments at 60 GHz band. The performance enhancement in terms of bit error rate (BER) brought by the proposed scheme, is demonstrated.
