Reducing the Dimension of Input Data for IDS by Using Match Analysis

Network attack detection is currently one of the most pressing problems in the secure use of networks. Network-based intrusion detection systems based on signature rules are unable to detect new types of attacks. Thus, the urgent task is to quickly classify network traffic to detect network attacks. This paper analyzes the possibility of downgrading the data vector in intrusion detection systems. The proposed approach will allow more efficient use of system resources and select the most appropriate (efficient) features.
