Biohashing application using fingerprint cancelable features

Mamatha Ram, K R Radhika · 2020

Unprotected storage of biometric data stimulates consequential security and privacy threats. Cancelable biometric technologies offer solutions by concealing user traits in a noninvertible approach. A novel multi factor authenticator constructed using repeated inner products between user specific fingerprint feature and tokenized random number framed as biohashing is proposed in this research work. There is no predestined way to obtain the user specific feature code without possessing both user fingerprint features and token with random data. A registration-free cancelable fingerprint biometrics based on biohashing is expressed as fingerhash. Experiment carried on FVC 2002 DB1A database using MATLAB gives an EER of 4% manifests that proposed system preserves biometric performance for diverse cancelable fingerprint authentication algorithms.
