Virtual Reality consistency with Common Concerns of Humanity: an overview

Manel Khlif · 2020

This paper presents an overview of the consistency of Virtual Reality (VR) with the Common Concerns of Humanity (CCH). Since VR has become widely available and applicable on different areas, it remains unclear if its impact is bad or good on humankind. State of the art of VR impact provides different overviews taken from a single area's point of view i.e. without providing a holistic point of view on humanity, beyond individual interests. The paper reviews the history of VR; the history and issues of common concerns of humanity; and investigates if ethical VR development and use are not contradictory with Common Concerns of Humanity.
