Optimal Edge Server and Service Placement in Mobile Edge Computing
Yadong Gong · 2020
Mobile edge computing (MEC) is a prominent technique to support delay-sensitive applications at the edge of mobile networks, and also has received great attention from the academic and industrial communities in recent years. One of the critical challenges in MEC is to determine an efficient placement of the edge server and service entity. In this paper, we formulate integer linear program (ILP) model to minimize the access delay of mobile users' requests in order to improve the efficiency of edge server and service entity placement. We perform simulations to evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm by comparing it with other classical algorithms. Simulation results indicate the big improvement of the proposed algorithms.
