Today, AES and PUF circuits used in the sensor circuit is still valuable to adversarial attacks. To enhance its security without incurring any hardware resource, we propose to intermix and reuse the PUF and AES, creating a brand new PUF design based on PUF+AES+PUF architecture. As compared to our previous PUF design, the proposed PUF+AES+PUF has shown improvement in FAR and FRR of 4.45%, and 11.31%, respectively. To further reduce the performance of AES, we have proposed an asynchronous AES architecture, which has improved the power efficiency from 1.47Gbps/W to 2.19Gbps/W.
