VMware ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V Hypervisor Performance Comparison

The focus of this paper is the evaluation of two typical type 1 hypervisors: ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V. The test procedures relied on the use of HD Tune Pro and Filebench environments, providing same testing conditions, while MS Windows Server and Centos 7 were used as the guest operating systems. The results have shown that the assumed hypotheses for the hypervisor behavior comply with the expectations.
