DS-CONY: APPLICATION FOR SECURING DATA EXCHANGE USING PUBLIC COMMUNICATION CHANNELS

Amiruddin Amiruddin, Noviyani Surya Dewi · 2018

Information technology continues to grow rapidly and its application has entered various spaces of human life, one of which is to exchange messages online. However, online messaging via public channels may be vulnerable, for example, intercepts or modifications, which may harm certain parties. The common method used for protection on the exchange of messages online is the use of cryptographic techniques in the form of message encryption before it is sent. However, encrypted messages may arouse suspicion due to the resulted random text. In this work, we developed an application, DS-Cony, which applies the Brickell-DeLaurentis digital signature scheme, to exchange messages securely without arousing suspicion through public channels. The proposed application is built with Java programming and it accommodates text messages with up to 256 characters long. Scenario of Man-In-The-Middle attack has been conducted to prove that sent messages do not arouse suspicion.
