RELIABLE COMMUNICATION USING ENERGY EFFICIENT PROTOCOL IN CLUSTER BASED MANET

Mobile ad hoc network is a wireless self organized network. The mobile nodes in the MANET dynamically establish routes among themselves to form their own network in an ad hoc fashion to make the communication between users more reliable. MANET is widely used because of its wireless infrastructure feature. But still there are some challenges which effect the reliability of MANET and the one of them is the energy consumption. Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) proposed the classical routing protocol in which the route selection is based on the minimum number of hops from source to destination but energy level and nodes lifetime is not considered by them. So in this paper, Cluster based Energy Efficient Ad hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (EE-AODV) routing protocol with clustering is proposed that works on the residual energy and quality of services for reliable communication. NS-2 simulation results show the performance of cluster based EE-AODV is better as compared to EQ-AODV and basic AODV. EE-AODV improves the performance of QoS parameters (PDR, Energy Consumption, throughput and overhead)
