Research On IoT Communication Protocols - Bluetooth Mesh

The paper focuses on the aspect of communication inside an IoT infrastructure.Choosing the most suitable protocol for your environment is without any doubt one of the most important things to consider.We reviewed and compared 5 of the most common protocols in terms of range, data rate, security, power consumption and scalability.The main focus is on Bluetooth Low Energy alongside Bluetooth Mesh.We managed to implement the new BLE mesh functionality on 3 real devices, being able to test the functionality and observe the protocol at work.A first possible IoT application is presented.
