A Visual Aid for an Elementary Applied Maximum Problem in Calculus

A SET of open-top rectangular boxes with square bases, made of transparent sheet plastic, has been found useful in dramatizing a typical applied maximum problem in calculus, and in convincing students that the methods of calculus really do give the dimensions for the box of maximum volume.
