Smart phones are now vastly used by billions of people because of their developed features namely details of bank account, passwords, net banking details, details of online payments etc. With current situation of pandemic in the world, everyone is doing work from home. In this situation many are using there smartphones for their work purpose, learning purpose etc. which has made use of smartphone mandatory for many. Feasibility of free application over smart phones makes them profitable targets for malware creators and cybercriminals. Existing botnet detection tools are focused mainly on web applications and their detection. They have limited visibility. In proposed research work, a security application is developed which scans all applications installed and identifies probable harmful applications on user's smartphone. It divides all permissions on every application in a pre-identified category. Based on permission category, risk factor of respective application is calculated. If risk factor/score exceeds determined threshold, user is notified about the risk associated with application. This will guide user about applications which can exploit personal information available on user device in real-time.
