Integration of programmable pocket calculators into measurement instrument packages

J. Roubik · 1977

The integration of programmable pocket calculators into measurement instrument packages is described. In these packages, the calculators perform as small, flexible, universally adaptable data processor systems having computing memory and data input/output capability. The calculators permit instrument calibration for nonlinearities beyond slope and intercept employing computer data processing and curve fit techniques. The report contains schematic diagrams of the calculator circuitry as modified to accept data and commands electrically. Also shown is the circuitry to generate external commands to the computer for instrument control.
