In sensor network, sensors nodes are deployed which sends data to the sink node. Each sensor nodes have its own battery and ability to communicate with sink node. Network of such nodes is called as Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). The successful operation of any Wireless Sensor Network primarily based on MAC sublayer which deals with addressing and channel access control. Design constraints like power consumption, scalability, delay, traffic control, packet delivery, throughput and overheads need to be considered in WSN. For efficient and successful working of WSN, it is necessary to have an effective MAC protocol to tackle with these design constraints. To expand the lifespan of the Wireless Sensor Network energy of each sensor node must be utilized efficiently. An efficient communication for transmission is possible with efficient MAC protocol and hence network lifetime can be increased. The functioning and performance evaluation of the FMAC Protocol in healthcare system for varied reporting rates has been shown in paper. The objective of the research is to identify the best MAC protocol in Healthcare System. Simulation results for parameters like throughput, packet delivery ratio, packet drop ratio, power consumption and end-to-end delay are illustrated in a graph. Performance metric and simulation outcomes for the proposed Hybrid FMAC (Federated MAC) are examined with available protocols like CSMA, TDMA and ZigBee. Implementation and analysis of Hospital network has been done for the quality of service parameters with respect to reporting rate.
