Context-aware computing has been defined as “an application’s ability to adapt to changing circumstances and respond according to the context of use” (Dey 2001). It can be considered as one of the main aspects among five key technology features able to provide ambient intelligence, identified by Aarts (2004) as embedded, context-aware, personalized, adaptive, and anticipatory.
