Regular Semigroups and Their Generalizations

An element a of a semigroup S is called regular if a ∈ aSa , that is, if axa = a for some x in S . A semigroup S is called regular if every element of S is regular. The aim of this article is to give a survey of recent developments in regular semigroups and its generalizations. Some research on this topic done in China during the last decade will be particularly mentioned.
