This paper presents a brief review of the recent advances that have taken place in the voice detection activity areas that has been used in the digital speech processing. This review/survey paper gives an idea about the research works that have been carried out in this field & once the related works could be analyzed, the problem formulation could be carried out and thus the article serves as a ready reckoner to begin with for any researcher who wants to pursue research in this field.
