The hidden dilemmas of cybersecurity practitioners

The call to build up cybersecurity capacities across nations still has mainly a technical focus. One tends to underestimate ethical and legal dilemmas that cybersecurity practitioners such as CERTs (Computer Emergency Response Teams) face in their daily work. This contribution outlines some of these dilemmas and points to the work of the European CANVAS Consortium that has created teaching material to sensitize cybersecurity professionals to such dilemmas.
