Registration of bone ultrasound images to CT based 3D bone models

The comparison between US to CT image registration, based on 3D data points obtained from the acquired images is performed in Matlab. The methods applied were the Iterative Closest Point and the Coherent Point Drift. The output of the compared methods is a transformation matrix, containing the rotation and translation, between the CT and US 3D points. The results were validated in an experimental setup to obtain images form a femur of a cow.
