Analysis of Gaze Point Distribution Affected by Observation Conditions When Viewing Video Clips

In our day life, the televisions are viewed under the various conditions of each households, and we rarely watch TV from a standard distance with the gaze position used in image quality evaluation. Accordingly, we examined mean gaze point distribution affected by observation conditions (the resolution, screen size, viewing position). Consequently, we found that there were mostly no differences in mean gaze point position and its standard deviation under the different conditions. It was suggested that consumers could choose and buy a display of their preferred resolution and size, and arrange a display with fitting each the room layout.
