The dead-core in a single reaction with lumped temperature

In this paper we analyze a mathematical model for a single chemical reaction in an isothermal catalyst. We denote by u the nondimensional concentration of the reactant and by v the nondimensional temperature which is assumed to be spatially homogeneous. We assume also that the reaction is endothermic which means that heat is consumed during the reaction.
