Photography is filled with an almost overwhelming array of hardware, optical, software, and esthetic choices. There are so many options that many practitioners often fall into “decision paralysis,” where they are so overwhelmed by the photographic possibilities that they end up doing nothing well . . . or just nothing. I’ve seen this often when photographers carry more than one format camera, too many lenses, or-in a very contemporary affliction-have too many apps on their iPhones. To help avoid bogging down with our mobile photography, I’ve found it helpful to separate the photographic process into three sections: 1. Capturing the Image.
