Mathematical Explorations: Hot Wheels

Many, if not most, students have collected or played with Hot Wheels® cars. Therefore, I decided that middle-grades students could explore the mathematical concept of scale factor involving these miniature cars. This activity has been successfully used with students of all ability levels, including special education students.
