Internet of Things (IoT) paradigm has garnered a lot of attention as it comprises the communication of many devices and provide an infrastructure to deliver the exchanged data to the Internet. The development of this new ground-breaking paradigm raised the necessity for the management of all media-related technologies in their different forms without any human interference. IPv6 Routing Protocol is one dominant protocol in Low Power and Lossy (RPL) IoT Networks . The RPL protocol uses two different “Objective Functions” (OFs): Minimum Rank with Hysteresis Objective Function (MRHOF) and the Objective Function Zero (OF0). These functions help in determining the best route to reach destination nodes, by using different processes and rules of selection. In this paper, we have studied the performance of the OF0 and MRHOF objective functions in terms of Power Consumption (PC) and Expected Transition Ratio (ETX) under different network parameters, such as RX Ratio, total number of nodes Network Topology.
