These days, image compression is an important task as it obtains less memory and easy. The Wavelet technique has the potential of providing high-quality compression. In this study, several wavelets from the coiflet family were applied in image compression to determine the best compression quality and fidelity of the wavelet. To achieve these goals, we analyze the Measurement of compression ratio, Mean Square Error (MSE), and peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) to determine the `acceptability' of the compression. Our test with the `Lena' image found that the compression ratio based on all wavelets gave almost identical results, but the coif1 wavelet gave the smallest compression ratio. In terms of fidelity, coif5 gives the best results.
