Inflection of the Portuguese DELAS using FST

The Portuguese DELAF that was initially used in INTEX corresponded to the conversion of an inflected Portuguese dictionary generated by the DIGRAMA system. In order to generate DELAF under INTEX, we have converted the dictionary of lemmas of DIGRAMA into INTEX formalism, obtaining a DELAS, and then constructed a set of inflectional finite state transducers based on the linguistic information represented in DIGRAMA. We briefly present the main characteristics of the inflectional formalism in DIGRAMA and INTEX, and we discuss some of the difficulties found in representing in the DELAS some of the linguistic information formalized in the DIGRAMA dictionaries.
