Graphical pre- and post-processing for a two-dimensional boundary element code, including automatic mesh generation

J.M. Crotty Sisson, R.H. MacKinnon, A. N. Stokes · 2020

Pre- and post-processing programs have been developed for the two-dimensional boundary element code, BITEMJ. This code is used for the rock stress analysis of mining problems. The pre-processor has graphical input of geometry, automatic mesh generation and interactive menu input of rock mechanics data. The post-processor provides vector and contour plots of displacements and stresses. Both programs are PC-based but have been designed to be highly portable. A mining case study is included as an example to demonstrate the utility of the new system.
