Statistical Methodology for Software Reliability with Environmental Factors

R. Jeromia Muthuraj, A. Mohamed Ashik, A. Loganathan · 2020

Software is playing a major role in this modern world. The world is expecting failure-free and reliable software. Many statistical models have been proposed during the last five decades for assessing the reliability of software. Like time between failures models, fault count models, fault-seeding models, and software reliability growth models. The models are constructing based on the failure information of the particular software. But this work is going to concentrate on assessing the reliability of software based on their environment. The pioneering work on software reliability based on environmental factors (EFs) was initiated by Pham (2006) . It proposed 32 EFs, which are more appropriate to study the reliability of the software. This work concentrates on building a statistical methodology to estimate the reliability of the software with EF using statistical models.
