A Continuous Decomposition of the Sierpiński Curve

This paper describes a construction of a continuous decomposition of the Sierpiński curve into non-degenerate cellular continua. The decomposition space under the quotient topology is then shown to be homeomorphic to the Sierpiński curve. Thus the paper shows the existence of a monotone open map from the Sierpiński curve onto the Sierpiński curve that is not a homeomorphism.
