What’s new in Photoshop CS6

Steve Caplin · 2013

Photoshop offers users a choice of four shades of gray for the interface — and this includes all windows, dialogs and panels. Photoshop is able to tell the readers much more about what it’s doing, thanks to context-specific information that appears when they perform certain actions. Many of the core functions of Photoshop now use the Adobe Mercury graphics engine, which was first developed for Adobe Premiere. Photoshop now automatically saves the readers&s; work to disk every few minutes. Mini Bridge, the panel that allows the readers to access their images without switching out of Photoshop, has had some tweaks to make it more efficient. Many of Photoshop’s tool icons have been subtly reworked for the release, making them clearer and cleaner in operation. If the readers have the Extended edition of Photoshop CS6, they’ll find that some of the information regarding 3D objects has moved into the Properties panel.
