Abstract Due to the increasing probability of a quantum computer appearance in the near future, there is a need to develop new tools for cryptographic information protection. Such tools are related to post-quantum cryptography. This article evaluates the performance characteristics, compactness, and computational complexity of previously developed combined electronic signature schemes. Such schemes consist of a combination of two independent electronic signature schemes, one of which is a post-quantum scheme, and the other is one of the well-known classical asymmetric electronic signature schemes. In all the schemes under consideration, the level of cryptographic security increases, and the probability of their hacking even with the help of a quantum computing device decreases. The results obtained in this paper may be useful to other researchers for further post-quantum cryptographic protection tools development.
