Integrated Traffic Management System

Nowadays, various traffic problems such as traffic congestion, emergency vehiclesbeing stuck in traffic, traffic rule offenders disrupt the daily lives of road users. The road usersencounter problems such as wastage of time on roads for waiting in traffic, getting delayed onemergency purposes, several health problems like air and noise pollution. These problems arebeing handled manually by traffic authorities. Managing these problems simultaneously by aperson is a tedious and time-consuming process. The solution to aid manual handling isproposed by using a single shot detector (SSD) to detect the object. With the informationprocessed through object detection, a working model is placed on the traffic surveillance thatwill automatically change the traffic lights based on the vehicle count and appearance of anemergency vehicle. Moreover, traffic violators will be captured through the camera in theproposed model. The combined system consists of a capturing device i.e. a camera and acontroller for processing and controlling the traffic signal and a power supply to run the system.The current traffic frame from the web camera is processed by the controller for obtaining therequired information.
