Impact of Size, Latency of Cache-L1 and Workload Over System Performance:

In this paper, a system architecture modelled to check the impact of the size of cache-L1, latency of cache-L1 and Mibench workbench on performance parameter Miss Rate and IPS is presented. Gem5 simulation tool has been used to model the system architecture and its configuration. Five applications of Mibench are basicmath, crc32, fft, stringsearch and Patricia which are used to evaluate the performance of the system. It is observed that performance of the system increases with the decrease in the latency and the increase in size of the cache-L1.
