In this paper we introduced the design of a novel Blockchain-based IoT network architecture that leverages Software Defined Network (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) to secure IoT transactions. We developed an intrusion detection system in a form of Virtualized Network Functions (VNFs) that improves both the scalability and performance of IoT networks. We show how the design of our IoT-focused smart contract can prevent DAO induction attacks in distributed IoT network. We introduce a novel Proof-of-Authority (PoA) consensus algorithm to detect and report suspected IoT nodes and mitigate malicious traffic.
