Simplified and Reliable Wireless Data Transmission in Ultra Dense Networks

Łukasz Kułacz, Adrian Kliks · 2020

One of the challenges identified for future wireless networks beyond 5G is to achieve extremely low energy consumption while keeping required level of quality-of-service, expressed in terms of reliability and system throughout. Inspired by the functioning of the human brain and nervous system, in this paper we consider extremely dense wireless network, where intentionally the distance between the nodes is reduced in such a way that as simple as possible transmission schemes can be applied, i.e., with simple modulations, lack of error-coding and no retransmissions. Assuming such simplified data transmission scheme, we investigate the reliability and availability of such dense wireless network, considering that errors may appear both during wireless data propagation and due to malfunctioning of the nodes.
