Blockchain Technology Testing Challenges and Approaches

For achieving ‘perfect’ production quality for software in functional testing enterprises face unique challenges since the applications and systems become more complex. With technology experience and robust testing processes, corporations need strong domain skills in order to perform effective functional testing. Blockchain technology provides a very innovative and secure way of managing online transactions. Blockchain is set to pioneer changes in the way businesses are conducted today through its promise of tamper-proof, secure, peer-to-peer decentralized networks with distributed consensus. These basic features built into the very fabric bring in a host of additional dimensions and provide greater challenges in their testing. This paper highlights the challenges currently faced in testing such applications. It also acknowledges the need to devise specialized tools and techniques for blockchain oriented software testing in order to ensure high standards of quality.
