Design of Truly Distributed Storage for Large Medical Datasets
Lukasz Zmudzin, Bartosz Sawicki · 2020
The paper presents the architecture design of the unique IT system that combines the advantages of DLT (blockchain) and DHT (peer2peer) technologies for the storage of large medical files, such as MRI scans or genetic data. Medical data is characterized by exceptional confidentiality and at the same time need for fast and reliable access when saving a patient's health or life. Modern tools of cryptography allow us to achieve these effects using a distributed system architecture, which has the additional advantage of being independent of one data controller.
