Inconsistency of Incomplete PC Matrices

Konrad Kułakowski · 2020

Local inconsistency indices are calculated for some selected groups of elements, which are then aggregated to obtain the final result. This division is, of course, arbitrary. This chapter discusses indices that elude such a simple classification. For complete PC matrices, the extended definition of inconsistency and its triad-based counterpart are equivalent. The ranking-based indices for incomplete PC matrices will use them instead of the original eigenvalue method or Geometric Mean Method (GMM). Although the priority vector can be calculated using any priority-deriving method, the authors use GMM. The original Golden–Wang index can also be extended to cover incomplete PC matrices. Although Barzilai’s Relative Error has been designed for additive and complete PC matrices, it can also be used for multiplicative and incomplete matrices.
