Cyber Security in Terms of IoT System and Blockchain Technologies in E-Healthcare Systems
Sudipta Paul, Subhankar Mishra · 2020
An e-healthcare system is a representation of various things under one umbrella with the use of different technologies, internet, and many different types of software and hardware simultaneously. The “various things” here are: doctor to patient uninterrupted live interaction when the doctor or the patient or both are at a remote place, and storing of the medical information of the patients, doctors, medicines, operation of various medical instruments remotely, etc. Therefore maintaining security in every step is one of the main concerns for the e-healthcare system from the perspective of cyber security. Here our main aim is to explain e-health security in terms of the IoT system and blockchain technology. We have also included various other aspects like security engineering, cryptographical measures and cloud technology in the following subsections. Interoperability, preservation of privacy, trust and authentication are the approaches for maintaining the security of an e-health system against vulnerabilities and various attacks. But social awareness also plays a huge role here. After giving a proper explanation of IoT and blockchain technology by keeping the aforementioned approaches and errors in mind, we finally conclude the chapter with a proper future direction and conclusion.
