A CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing Test to Tell Computers and Humans Apart) is a simple test that is applied on websites to differentiate between human users and automated programs, which indulge in spamming and other fraudulent activities.A text-based CAPTCHA is the most popular security technique used by many websites on the internet, such as Microsoft, eBay, Google and so on.A textbased CAPTCHA human attack means hiring third-party humans in order to solve the CAPTCHA tests.Consequently, a CAPTCHA, by design, is unable to differentiate between a human-based attacker and a legitimate human user. This paper proposes a new methodology for detecting human attacks on text-based CAPTCHAs.
