She received her Ph.D. in material science and engineering from Tuskegee University in 2009.She teaches courses in engineering graphics, freshman design, and probability and statistics for engineers.Her research interests include pedagogy development for learning and engagement; first year engineering studies, and nanostructured films and membranes for various applications.
