The Internet of Things has brought up numerous possibilities in various industries. Biometric monitoring is booming in the new era of digital revolution, as passwords and traditional techniques of authentication are prone to get stolen or forgotten. Biometric monitoring is the tracking of users’ essential parameters and conscious or unconscious changes in those parameters, for example, temperature, heartbeat, stress, mood, and brain activity; these traits help to assess various user characteristics such as emotion and behavior. With the IoT technology, every monitoring device capturing these essential traits is able to transmit data wirelessly. The healthcare industry has been quick enough to take up the idea of Internet of Things and has seen an enormous revolution in terms of gathering biometric data. Wearable IoT devices have become popular among people since their introduction. Biometric monitoring is being used across the world to measure and analyze the heart rate, temperature, blood pressure, vital signs, and various parameters in real time such as sweat, hydration, stress level, and number of steps taken. Thus, remotely connected IoT sensors have a great capability to analyze various individual traits to give useful insights. This can help healthcare and even other medical authorities involved in scenarios such as automotive racing and sports to schedule training programs and check what factors could affect a driver or athlete.
