A toolkit for Tackling World Challenges
Marijane Luistro-Jonsson, Anna Nyberg · 2020
At the core of teaching students to tackle world challenges is the need to provide students with a toolkit with a variety of problem-solving tools, matching the complexity of the problems to be addressed and allowing the students to come up with innovative and promising solutions. The pedagogical approach of the course offers different problem-solving techniques across disciplinary boundaries, and develops the skills and capabilities of the students to work in geographically dispersed teams, with projects in different locations as well. In addition to the direct and indirect methods included in the toolkit, the students expanded their capability to address complex problems by working with industry partners on live projects defined in cooperation between industry and academia.
