UEFI BIOS Compatibility for Multiple SOC Based on Device Capability Detection

This paper proposes a novel methodology for supporting multiple system on chip and intellectual property UEFI drivers like peripheral component interconnect in a same firmware for basic input output system by considering the capabilities of each devices during the boot flow of a system in a Simics environment. Each intellectual property has its capability ID in the config space of each device. This methodology attempts to read the capability of each device and accordingly loads the drivers based on the system on chip capability. So that in a same bios that supports multiple intellectual property generations based on the System on Chip capability is proposed.
