THE POWER MOSFET

Stefan Linder · EPFL Press eBooks · 2006

At present, the power MOSFET is the most important power semiconductor component for blocking voltages up to 600 V. It is mainly employed in low to medium power applications, ranging from a few watts to several kW. Examples are computer power supplies, household appliances (such as refrigerators, washing machines, and induction hotplates), uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and automotive systems (e.g., electrical power steering, integrated starter alternators).
