Abstract Internet of things is a need of time. In January to March 2020 scenario where pandemic virus disease is spread all over the world. Most of the countries are following lockdown mode as prevention. IoT applications plays important role in such kind of disastrous conditions. The person is expected to remain in isolation if found infected by virus and all his daily activities are monitored. Wireless technologies play important role is such conditions. This application may also fall under the smart city applications. IoT based application which analyzes data, monitor data as well as manage data for the ill person and report to the doctor regarding health of his patient. The effective communication of wireless protocol is basic requirement for critical IoT applications. Wireless technologies such as Zwave, NFC, LoRaWAN works on low power which results in effective utilization of power in limited resource condition. Zigbee, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth consumes more power for wireless transmission. The analysis of different wireless technologies which can be used for IoT application for IoT applications are discussed in this paper.
