TABULATION OF ATOMIC SCATTERING PARAMETERS CALCULATED CLASSICALLY FROM A SCREENED COULOMB POTENTIAL

Felton W. Bingham · 1966

A screened Coulomb potential has been used to calculate three quantities of interest in atomic scattering studies: distance of closest approach of the col liding atoms, impact parameter, and differential cross section. The results are tabulated as functions of scattering angle and of a parameter which depends upon the particular atomic species and bombarding energies involved in a given colli sion.Auxiliary tables are given to facilitate calculation of this parameter. The tables are generally useful for collisions in the energy range from approxi mately 100 eV to hundreds of keV; restrictions upon their validity are discussed briefly in the report.m p i DISCLAIMER This report was prepared as an account of work sponsored by an agency of the United States Government.Neither the United
